Swap Challenge

Hi everyone. It's been awhile life sure becomes busy when school is in full swing and there just seems to be not enough time in the day.
I was so excited to be a part of this swap challenge and just want to thank Patti and my swap buddy Bridget. She sent so many wonderful emblishments and a beautiful chipboard mini album just so I can do what I never do and scrap about me!!!! Let me see where to begin she sent a 12x12 choco color paper that she was kind enough to score and cut this was the starting point to my very first exposion box!!! She included assorted ribbon, stickers, mini emblishments a mini punch and a 6x6 assorted paper pad, I hope I remembered everything.
I themed my box with my son David and his friends from his 17th birthday from last year. In the first box I added the title ''A Son Is........" I then added the words talented, funny and perfect. I stamped a cupcake design using studio g and then with my cricut cut a cupcake that I then added blue glitter to make it look like frosting. In the group picture I titled it ''Friendship" and then added the words alike but diffrent. I had the picture of David acting like he was shooting flames from his mouth so I added the words crazy and cool.

I hope everyone enjoys my very first exposion box I know that I'll be making many more thanks to Bridget.

Halloween 3-D Challenge

My first 3-D project I used my Happy Hauntings cricut cartridge and added emblishments from the Recollections Halloween 12x12 paper slab. I cut out a headless horsemen and added glitter stickle to his cloak and also added glitter to the grass I cut a frame and added purple stickle and then cut out a spooky pumpkin and a few haunting ghost and a cute smiling spider was added from a cut out pattern from Hot off the Press. Life and Happiness what will you do with it?

Hello my friends hope everyone is enjoying the last days of summer with Labor Day just a few days away, where did the year go? I know it's been on my mind having my baby turn 18 in July and he just started school senior year, our middle turned 20 on Sunday and our oldest will be 26 in a few weeks.

Life is just going past and I thought one day it's gonna be a just me and the hubby. We just enjoyed a nice week-end down the coast it was so nice to be kid-free but at the same time it got me thinking 27 years and we always made sure the kids were happy and all our family time was kid friendly we never had just grown-up time.

Just having a few days to ourselves made us realize we should do a get away when we can it was nice getting to know eachother again. And so my question to everyone is what will you do when life and happiness comes knocking at the door? Will you and your special someone take the time to enjoy it even if it's just a visit to the local coffee shop or a nice get away? Life is short and quickly passes don't let it get passed you to quickly. Take time to stop and smell the roses.

Here is my stairstep card hope you like it.
I used my Lori's Garden and also my Art Nouveau cartridges
I used DCWV in orange and the butterflies came from Lori's Garden cut at a 3.75 for the green one and the purple/blue butterflies were cut at 3.25 and my yellow one was cut at 3.5.
For my flower I cut it using Art Nouveau at 3.25 I then puched small butterflies using my Martha Steward punch and added Tim Holtz glitter to my wings.

Hello everyone !! Hope you all had a great week-end

For this weeks challenge it was teacher inspired using the color orange a little bling some ribbon and any color of our choice. I am so use to doing 12x12 pages I had to think out of the box and step away from my comfort zone for this one.

Using a cream color for my base  I cut my 8x11 smaller then a 4x5 and using my Nate's ABC cartridge I cut my letter A at 3.0 in the orange and using some back to school stickers and ribbon I also cut off the prongs of a brad and pop doted it to my corner for my bling I used to green jewels and some of Tim Holtz distress glitter.

The inside of the card was also cut at 3.0 and I used some blue glitter to add some sparkle to the pond of water. My little boy was cut at 3.0 and I surrounded him with a bit more back to school stickers.

I hope everyone likes my little creation and for all the mom's out in our group I know my home is ready to be teen-age free in two weeks back to school for my guys. Enjoy the rest of your week

HAPPY BLOG HOP

WOW my first blog hop

The pictures I chose are of my son David he was in the fifth grade and in a few weeks he will be 18 how time flies I just remember as I worked on this layout how much of a child and so innocent he was and how much the world has changed since then. No worries no stress for this little boy in the photos. David could'nt wait for fifth grade just because of the four day field trip to Point Bonita which is on the other side of the Golden Gate only the ''Big Fifth Graders'' are able to participate in this trip night hiking, ocean beach walks, learning all about the earth and her nature. The kids were to pick out a nickname and he choose Little Lion I think it was because he thought our group leader was just to cool to be a girl and he caught a little crush on her name was Lisa Lion.

My supplies were from My Big Ideas paper 12x12
a mini seahorse punch
emblishments from Joilees and Hedi Swapp

I hope everyone enjoys my photos and layout

Christmas in July

Happy Friday everyone

Needless to say this July project was a challenge for me I had to think about it for a few days the 90 degree Califorina heat sure did'nt help :) I am a summer girl at heart so taking a walk to clear my head and get my creative juices going (LOL) I thought about the little critters that not only are around during my walk but the same ones that we enjoy during the winter and this is my layout that I came up with!!!! Using my Winter Frolic cartridge I choose the field mouse, and the beaver, I then added my winter elements Frosty, Mr. Penquin, a reindeer and of course the reason we celebrate this day the baby Jesus.

My cuts were at 3.50 using all paper by Recollections we were told to use pink, blak, white and one color of our choice I picked brown and of course there were little bits of color to bring my elements to life I also added a few glitter colors on some of my cutouts. I hope you all like it. Remember the blog hop tomorrow can't wait to see everyones Summer Fun projects!!!!
