HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy 2013 to everyone!!! Is it just me or did the hoildays seem to just past so quickly???
I hope that everyone enjoyed their families and loved ones through out all the festivieties that you celebrate. As for us we enjoyed friends and family but with a sad and heavy heart we also said goodbye to my mother-in-law who lost her battle with demintia just a few days before Christmas. We celebrate her life knowing that she is in the Lord's hands and one day we shall see her again.

For this weeks challenge we were to pick an element that we never worked with before for myself I choose paper folding and inking a blank sheet of cardstock.

Using an Ivory colored sheet from my Recollections pack I tried to teach myself via u-tube how to create a paper rose. I also added chalked butterflies from a Martha Stewart punch and placed glitter to add some bling to the bodies. My stamping choice was from the Heidi Grace collection of assorted florals and I also added a few butterfly inkings by Roanda. Using my ink pads in assorted colors I watercolored the images with a blending pen. To finish off my page I added a few gems to the flowers and also two green Prima flowers to the bottom of the rose on the top of my page.

I hope everyone stops by to check out all the other great challenges this week.just-a-scrappin.com

Anything goes challenge

Hello my DT Sisters.

Fall is finally here yet in sunny California it's a warm 80 degrees. For my anything goes challenge I used a purple cardstock . In a royal purple ink. I choose the sentiment Today belongs to you. Using the chalking colors orange/yellow  I colored in the butterflies and then added assorted colors of glitter stickles. I added two loopy brads to the card with a cream twine and also a lime green twine which  I knoted in the middle. On the edge of the card I stamped with a shimmer green ink a pretty vine which connects with the lime flower diecut and as a finishing touch a cute diecut butterfly. Swap Challenge

Hi everyone. It's been awhile life sure becomes busy when school is in full swing and there just seems to be not enough time in the day.
I was so excited to be a part of this swap challenge and just want to thank Patti and my swap buddy Bridget. She sent so many wonderful emblishments and a beautiful chipboard mini album just so I can do what I never do and scrap about me!!!! Let me see where to begin she sent a 12x12 choco color paper that she was kind enough to score and cut this was the starting point to my very first exposion box!!! She included assorted ribbon, stickers, mini emblishments a mini punch and a 6x6 assorted paper pad, I hope I remembered everything.
I themed my box with my son David and his friends from his 17th birthday from last year. In the first box I added the title ''A Son Is........" I then added the words talented, funny and perfect. I stamped a cupcake design using studio g and then with my cricut cut a cupcake that I then added blue glitter to make it look like frosting. In the group picture I titled it ''Friendship" and then added the words alike but diffrent. I had the picture of David acting like he was shooting flames from his mouth so I added the words crazy and cool.

I hope everyone enjoys my very first exposion box I know that I'll be making many more thanks to Bridget.

Halloween 3-D Challenge

My first 3-D project I used my Happy Hauntings cricut cartridge and added emblishments from the Recollections Halloween 12x12 paper slab. I cut out a headless horsemen and added glitter stickle to his cloak and also added glitter to the grass I cut a frame and added purple stickle and then cut out a spooky pumpkin and a few haunting ghost and a cute smiling spider was added from a cut out pattern from Hot off the Press. I added a few tags and used a spooky font stamp and halloween is not complete without a haunted house.
