A Quilting we will Go

Hello everyone another Thursday at just-a-scrappin-blogspot.com.This weeks challenge was to include quilting patterns in our projects and to include wet or dry embossing to our projects.

I cut out squares with a deminsion of 3.5x3.5 and using my sidekick embossed small flowers with a little butterfly I also added stickle colors to my diecuts. This was a real brain teaser for mer because I have never been intrested in quilting so I really had to just take the sewing/quilting idea out of the challenge and think of it as a project that just had the ideas of the same patterns worked into it.

Hope everyone has a great week and don't forget to stop by just-a-scrappin-blogspot.com and check out everyones projects.

Supplies used were
12x12 DCWV Pattern paper from Tahiti collection cut into squares
12x12 DCWV cardstock paper in red-orange as the base of my quilt
assorted colors of stickle
black marker to use for my stitching
Butterfly-flower embossing folder die cut

Build a Snowman

This week our challenge was to use buttons and ribbon and create our very own snowman
I cut my circles using my cutterbee circle cutter at 2,3 and 4.5 inches I used effects parchment paper in the color of translucent silver from Canson papercrafts. Ribbon and buttons were from my supplies by Oriental Trading. With orange glitter I formed a carrot nose and drew in his mouth and pipe. With a few sprigs from my oak tree I created his arms and added glitter. I then added a few left over christmas stickers and the title to the top of a 8x11.5 blue sheet of cardstock. I also added a some blue glitter to my snowmans body.

Hope everyone stops by to check out the creative snowmen at just-a-scrappin blogspot.com.

LET it SNOW

This weeks challenge was to use snowflakes in a layout, card, or any project. I looked through my stash and did'nt find very much to work with so with a stamp and a few sheets of paper I came up with this project. Using two diffrent size punches I punched out the snowflakes from a 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 sheet of glitter paper and pop dotted them to my card. I did'nt have a traditional snowflake diecuts to cut from so I found my version of a heart snowflake from my sweetheart cricut cartridge and cut it at 4.5 and outlined it in glitter glue. I added my mini stamp and stamped in a few areas and then added stickle for some glitter effect. With a sheet cut at 4 1/2 x5 1/2 I used a few snowflake brads to attach my paper I loved this paper because it just used all the winter words that reflect this winter season. Don't forget to stop by just a scrappin blogspot.com and see all the great projects and make something yourself that shows off your winter snowflakes. HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy 2013 to everyone!!! Is it just me or did the hoildays seem to just past so quickly???
I hope that everyone enjoyed their families and loved ones through out all the festivieties that you celebrate. As for us we enjoyed friends and family but with a sad and heavy heart we also said goodbye to my mother-in-law who lost her battle with demintia just a few days before Christmas. We celebrate her life knowing that she is in the Lord's hands and one day we shall see her again.

For this weeks challenge we were to pick an element that we never worked with before for myself I choose paper folding and inking a blank sheet of cardstock.

Using an Ivory colored sheet from my Recollections pack I tried to teach myself via u-tube how to create a paper rose. I also added chalked butterflies from a Martha Stewart punch and placed glitter to add some bling to the bodies. My stamping choice was from the Heidi Grace collection of assorted florals and I also added a few butterfly inkings by Roanda. Using my ink pads in assorted colors I watercolored the images with a blending pen. To finish off my page I added a few gems to the flowers and also two green Prima flowers to the bottom of the rose on the top of my page.

I hope everyone stops by to check out all the other great challenges this week.just-a-scrappin.com
