Happy Spring

This weeks challenge over at just-a-scrappin-blogspot.com was to make an easel card, I choose a seasonal theme for my card punching lavender butterflies and using assorted spring themed stamps.
I also added a trim of ribbon and a few embllishments and glitter glues to add color to my brad.
Using u-tube as a starting point for a little direction on how to start a easel card (I don't really do cards) I found a easy way to understand how to do this challenge.

Using a peach color cardstock I trimmed to 41/2 x 81/2 using a scoreboard I scored at 4 1/4 and 6 3/8
folding in 1/2 on the first score and the second score was folded in the opposite direction I then added adhesive to the flap of the fold.

Using a butterfly punch from ek sucess I punched out mini butterflies and with the negitive image I inked the corner of my card I also added a brad to the center and a few purple pearls to the fold to keep my card in the shape of the easel With my stamps I added my greeting to the botton corner and with an idea of fluttering insects I double stamped my image to the center of the top side and then added a stripe of green ribbon that kept to my spring theme.

Hope everyone has a blessed Easter and enjoys all that the Spring has to offer us with pretty flowers in bloom and the birds singing outside their kitchen windows and as always remember to stop by just-a-scrappin-blogspot.com and see all the wonderful creations from our design team.

Just a Sweet Flower

It's another challenge for the just-a-scrappin design team. This week we were to use the color orange and felt on a lay-out or a card. For my challenge I wanted to just do something fun and cute so I went into my stash of cartridges and found the Disney Classics. Flower was my favorite character in the movie Bambi, he was just so cute and shy I just think he was super adorable.

This is how I completed my design. Flower was cut at 4.50 and his floral bunch is where I used the color orange I added some shimmering green stickle to the center of each bloom and I also had a floral stem left over from an older project that I added to the page I placed red stickles to the stem and a felt butterfly which was stamped in black and traced with glitter stickles also I let the butterflies dry before cutting them out I also did the same with the floral stamp and just used 3-d foam dots to add some deminsion.

So don't forget to stop by just-a-scrappinblogspot.com to see all the great designs the team came up with and have a great time creating something with felt and the color orange

Materials used

Happy St. Pattie's Day

Happy Thrusday everyone Wishing you all a early Happy St. Paricks Day. This weeks challenge over at just-a-scrappin.com was to create a St. Pattie's for that someone special in your life that is a male.
I created a layout for my son David who is such the "odd boy out" in the family all his brothers have brown hair and brown or hazel eyes and he came out with crazy red hair and blue eyes with freckles.
His nickname in school was Little Leprechaun but I'm just needing a picture of him to complete my layout and in the family album it shall go!!! I hope everyone has a great week-end as for me I can't wait the Scrapbook expo is making it's way to the bay area and I am finally going I can't wait until I can see all the great shop spots with the goodies we as crafters all love to play with. I signed up to take a few of the Tim Holtz workshops so it should be a lot of fun. Remember to stop by and check out all the great projects that our team of designers made and why not try making something 'Green and Special" for that number one guy in your life.
